Please help us support newly arrived Afghan families
Hello,
The Harrow Club is committed to support Afghan refugee children who have been temporarily housed in local hotels. These children have undoubtedly been through very challenging and stressful experiences.
We will open the club from midday to 4pm each Saturday and Sunday from now until December to provide a range of activities as well as daily activities over the upcoming half-term.
Working alongside local partners – QPR in the Community, London Sports Trust and the Dalgarno Trust – we will offer a programme of sports, media, music and games, to provide a welcome distraction, support and a safe place to be.
Many of the young people have arrived with very little, so we are keen to raise funds for the activities, as well as trainers and sports clothing so that they can take part in the activities. We will also provide transportation so that they can get to and from our clubs.
- £25 will pay for a tracksuit for a young person so they can take part in sports activities
- £30 will pay for a new pair of trainers
- £50 will cover the transport costs for a weekend of activities
- £100 will provide lunch for all the young people that join us over the weekend
Any donation you can make to help us with this effort will be gratefully received.
We couldn’t do any of this without your support. Thank you.
