Will provide funding for an overnight camping trip for 10 children with tents, food and outdoor activities
We need your support to give 200 disadvantaged local children a desperately needed summer break
We need to raise a further £50,000 so we can provide a comprehensive 6 week summer programme for 300+ children from our 6 youth clubs across West London. Activities will include day trips, overnight stays and longer breaks. All donations will be matched through the Summer Big Give campaign and the Childhood Trust, meaning £100,000 secured in total.
Received in Donations So Far
Your support, through this appeal, will provide much needed resources for us to run a programme of holiday activities reaching 200 children over the summer. It will include:
- a comprehensive daily youth club programme across 6 sites in West London, providing a range of activities, workshops and support sessions;
- day trips and short holidays for children in the countryside or the seaside;
- art, design and music projects including our new computer game design project; and
- a partnership programme working with other youth and community charities providing joint outreach and detached delivery in local streets, estates and parks.
We want to support children such as Daisy, Kaya, Jack and Aiden. We can only do this with your help!
As many of you know, the Harrow Club’s mission is to profoundly improve the lives and life chances of young people aged between 8 and 18. These children and young people are dealing with extremely challenging personal circumstances, whether that’s complex home lives, criminality, school exclusion or deprivation. As a charity, we are in the unique position to really help where it’s needed.
We have an incredible team. 40 youth workers operate from the club’s five locations, providing 1-2-1 mentoring, football and sports coaching, music lessons, mental health therapy, and advocating for young people in court. The Harrow club engage a staggering 200 young people each week. For many, the effect is life changing.
Some of the children we work with face significant life challenges. For these children the ability and opportunity to take part in recreational and social activities as well as, in some cases, make friends and have a chance to enjoy childhood can be even more diminished.
Many thanks
