Latest news from the Harrow Club

Hello,

We hope you are well.  With the new year already well under way, we have lots of good news we wanted to share:

Welcoming newly arrived Afghan young people
Over Christmas and New Year, we ran sessions for 24 local Afghan young people who are living in local hotels. It was especially important as there was very little else available elsewhere during this period. Aside from sports, arts, music and group meals we gave out Christmas Hampers kindly provided by North Kensington Community Kitchen and LetMePlay.  We also took the group on a tour of Central London and the Christmas Lights. The Harrow Club is continuing this work in the New Year working closely with the local authorities and schools to begin to integrate them into existing youth provision.

Incredible football achievements
Harrow Club’s under 17’s Middlesex Youth League winning team has recently celebrated a string of players being signed for professional teams which is a massive achievement for the players and our football coaches. Adam Khalid signed for Sporting Lisbon, Dante Baptiste for Aston Villa, Jayden Philogene for Watford and Darius Johnson for the Dutch side FC Volendam.

To carry on supporting young people such as Jayden and Dante, we are searching for a corporate or local business to sponsor the team. The cost to run the football team is £5,000 a year per team and sponsors’ brandmarks will be added to the sports shirts.  Please get in touch with Liam if you are interested in this fantastic opportunity – liam@harrowclubw10.org.
