URGENT APPEAL FOR FUNDS FOR LAPTOPS FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN
Who Need Online Access From The Club Or Home For School Work
Hello,
I hope you and your families are all keeping well at this time.
I am writing to you today in my role as trustee of the Harrow Club. As you may know the Harrow Club provides youth clubs and specialist activities for local young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The challenges these young people face at this time are significant, as they find themselves with reduced access to safe spaces, support and services.
During the pandemic it has become very apparent that many of the young people we work with do not have access to computers and online resources. The impact of this, where so much is now online, is exclusion from education, remote learning and employment opportunities. A number of these young people are also in particularly vulnerable situations at home and not only need access to technology, but also need a safe space where they can be supported.
We are committed to helping these young people and are raising funds to buy some simple, functional laptops, which will be in our youth clubs and also available for home use. Each laptop costs £250 and we are hoping to raise enough to buy 40, which will give over 150 young people immediate access to critical online resources.
If you are able to contribute towards the purchase of these much-needed laptops please get in touch with our COO, Ros Oxley at ros@harrowclubw10.org
With best wishes
